Fans, the tickets for Morrissey’s concert on Monday, June 23, in Stockholm, Sweden, were ultimately without evening plans. The musician canceled the performance the evening before. On his official website, Morrissey said he had difficulty finding support from the music industry to continue the tour.
Tour stop planned in Berlin
“The pain of not reaching Stockholm this week is terrible for the band and crew,” he wrote. “I know it is impossible to understand that, but we dream of Stockholm, Reykjavík, Trondheim, Helsinki, Aarhus … but there is no financial support from imaginary record companies to bring us to such places. In the last seven days we have traveled through six countries and we have been over all ways. We can hardly see any more.”
Morrissey started the European stage of this tour in May. This month he performed in Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, Madrid, Paris, Antwerp, Cologne, Amsterdam and Copenhagen. The upcoming shows include an appearance in Berlin on Friday, June 27th, followed by Leipzig in Germany, Munich, Krakow, Vienna, Belgrade, Bucharest, Istanbul, Athens and other cities.
“Thousands of friends, zero support”
“We pray to God that someone somewhere helps us to reach Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Denmark … where we have thousands and thousands of friends, but absolutely zero support from the music industry,” said Morrissey. “No label will publish our music, no radio will play our music … and yet our ticket sales are sensational. What does that say about the state of art in 2025? The car continues to roll to Berlin, June 27th. With God’s grace we will all gather. I love you all with what is left of my lost heart.”
Morrissey has currently not planned any concerts in Norway, Finland or Iceland. He has already performed on this tour in Denmark.
