The soccer professional Mario Vuskovic from Hamburger SV, blocked for doping, plans a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in Strasbourg. The “Hamburger Abendblatt” reports. The goal is therefore not a reduction or suspension of his lock that still applies until 2026, but a preparation of possible damages negotiations.
The sports court of the German Football Association initially closed Vuskovic for two years, the International Sports Court (CAS) for four years. The 23 -year -old defender from Croatia continues to assert his innocence, but recently failed with an appeal to the Swiss Federal Court.
According to its idea and that of its lawyers, the European Court of Human Rights should check whether the previous proceedings against Vuskovic were fair and whether it could perceive all of his rights.
If his complaint is admitted and the ECHR even agreed to him, Vuskovic could sue the DFB or those involved in the procedure in a further step. However, his chances in Strasbourg are considered very low.
