does Eddy Zoëy have to leave RTL Boulevard?

Celebrities agree with Raymond Mens’ criticism that there are far too many presenters at RTL Boulevard. Is the helm changing? Eddy Zoëy is most in the danger zone…

RTL Boulevard was once the great Albert Verlinde and Beau van Erven Dorens show, but that was a long time ago now. Nowadays the show section is a bit of a mixed bag with a whole carousel of presenters. According to Raymond Mens, that is very bad for the recognisability of the program and it needs to change course.

Tineke is critical

The Story called his panel of celebrities about that proposal and quite a few stars agree that four presenters for one program is a bit much. And Bridget Maasland and Daphne Bunskoek and Eddy Zoëy and Vivienne van den Assem? It’s time to throw someone out, they think.

Radio legend Tineke de Nooij thinks that Boulevard should just go back to the way it used to be. “Yes. Two permanent presenters, because they already have various specialists.”

A permanent team

Bobbi Eden thinks that you hardly build a bond with the Boulevard team due to the continuous changes. “Yes,” says the actress. “A permanent team is also useful for bonding with the viewer. Although they now seem secondary to the items that follow each other in quick succession.”

Singer Ria Valk sometimes doesn’t even remember whether she is watching Boulevard. “I often don’t even know who I’m looking at anymore. Back then with Albert Verlinde and Winston Gerschtanowitz it was much better.”

And Johan Vlemmix even speaks of a ‘chaos’ in the show section in the Story panel.

Eddie first?

Will RTL Boulevard listen to the criticism or will they mainly look at their sky-high market shares with a smile? Probably the latter, but if they do opt for something more recognisable, Eddy seems to be the first to lose out.

41 percent of Mediacourant readers would choose to dump Eddy first, according to a poll that received 14,000 votes. Bridget Maasland follows in second place with 26 percent. Daphne Bunskoek (20 percent) and Vivienne van den Assem (13 percent) arouse less aversion.
