Does BVB help themselves to Real Madrid?

Borussia Dortmund’s search for a new left-back is in full swing. BVB may use Real Madrid.

According to the “Denfensa Central” portal, Borussia Dortmund has their eye on Fran García. Accordingly, those responsible for the Black and Yellows have already asked the Royals about the 24-year-old’s availability.

The Madrilenians are basically ready to give up García in the winter. However, an appropriate offer is required for this. A loan is also possible.

García moved from Rayo Vallecano to Real Madrid in the summer. “Only” five million euros changed hands back then.

The defender’s contract with the top Spanish club runs until 2027. However, he doesn’t get much playing time.

García is mostly just a joker at Real Madrid

At the start of the season, García benefited from Ferland Mendy’s injury and was on the pitch regularly, including from the start. However, the two-time Spain international made his last appearance in the starting eleven at the beginning of November. Since then there have only been two short appearances in LaLiga.

However, in the most recent Champions League game against Union Berlin (3:2), García was allowed to play the full distance.

The transfer of another left-back is a top priority for BVB during the winter break. Ultimately, an alternative to Ramy Bensebaini is urgently needed. The 28-year-old summer signing from Borussia Mönchengladbach will be with Algeria’s national team at the Africa Cup of Nations in January.

As things stand, the only backup available is Julian Ryerson, but he is also needed on the right and is currently suffering from a serious knee injury.

The “Ruhr Nachrichten” recently reported that BVB is only looking for a temporary solution, as Bensebaini and Ryerson will be available again in February and loan player Tom Rothe (from Holstein Kiel) will return in the summer.
