Does 3-goal Serdar Hertha shoot for the first home threesome?

It should finally work on Sunday!

In the basement summit against Schalke (5.30 p.m. / DAZN), Hertha is fighting for the first home win of the current season. Coach Sandro Schwarz (44): “The longing is great. With the fans behind us, we want to bring the energy onto the pitch from the first second to celebrate three points.”

The team is eager to finally reward itself in front of its own fans for the appealing performances of the past few weeks – after all, the Berliners have been waiting for a win for five games, longer than any other Bundesliga club. Without a threesome, the capital club threatens to sink into the table cellar.

Schwarz: “Of course it was frustrating not having won one or the other game on our side. But I take the guys very combative and highly concentrated. We go in with joy.”

One Hertha professional in particular has already proven that he enjoys scoring goals in the Olympic Stadium – and he will be doubly motivated against the miners. Ex-Schalke player Suat Serdar (25) scored his three goals this season in home games, making him Hertha’s top scorer at home.

Today is his first reunion with Schalke, where he played between 2018 and 2021. Serdar: “It’s still the nicest thing to score in your own stadium and to celebrate with the fans. It’s going to be a little more special than other encounters, but I generally go into every encounter to win it.”

That’s what the Hertha fans want too – to celebrate together with Serdar about the first home three of the season.
