Dodig/Krajicek triumph in doubles in Paris

Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek have won the French Open doubles competition.

Last year’s finalists defeated the Belgian duo Sander Gille/Joran Vliegen 6-3, 6-1 on Saturday. Dodig/Krajicek, number four, only needed 1:21 hours to secure their first joint title at the second attempt.

The Croatian Dodig celebrated his second victory in Paris after 2015, for his US partner it was the first success at Grand Slam level.

Andreas Mies was the last German to be eliminated alongside Dutchman Matwe Middelkoop in the semifinals against Gille/Vliegen, mixed champion Tim Pütz and Kevin Krawietz failed in the quarterfinals. Krawietz/Mies triumphed together in Paris in 2019 and 2020.
