DocuSign opens offices in Italy and Spain

In a press release issued June 7, 2022, DocuSign announcement the opening of new offices in Italy and Spain to accelerate its development in the EMEA region. The world leader in electronic signature has ambition and intends to strengthen its operations in southern Europe.

Spain and Italy: two new markets for DocuSign

The electronic signature has been legally recognized in Italy and Spain since 1999. Like France, the two southern European countries have adopted the European Union eIDAS regulation. A text that has “standardized electronic signature recognition in 2014” and which has allowed companies specializing in this technology to develop massively. According to DocuSign, the Spaniards are already very familiar with the electronic signature. They use it for a whole range of procedures, including documents relating to lawsuits. The country’s public authorities also work by dematerialized means and therefore use the electronic signature.

A crucial European step for the electronic signature giant

In Italy, it’s the same thing: the use of electronic signatures is very common. The country was also one of the first in the world to adopt legislation on the legality of the electronic signature. DocuSign specifies that according to AGID (Agenzia per l’Italia Digitale), “Italy now has more than 20 million active users of electronic signatures”. According to Ronan Copeland, Group VP and General Manager EMEA of DocuSign, “This development in Spain and Italy is a crucial step for our development in Europe”.

He assures that there is a strong demand for electronic signatures in these markets and adds that “we look forward to helping even more businesses transition to a safer, more reliable and more efficient way to create, sign and manage their digital agreements”. In Spain and Italy, the company intends to provide its customers with teams dedicated to sales, marketing and customer relations.
