A survey by De Artsenkrant, commissioned by the University of Antwerp, shows that almost 80 percent of the doctors surveyed indicate that poor patients are unable to pay their health costs. “It makes no sense to prescribe the medication if people cannot pay at the pharmacist,” says Professor Kris Van den Broeck.
