Whatsapp is starting to restrict the taking of screenshots from users’ profile pictures.
According to the WABetaInfo website, which reports on the changes in the beta version of Whatsapp, in future versions of the application, you can no longer take screenshots, that is, screenshots of other users’ profile pictures.
The purpose is to protect users’ privacy and curb abuse of profile pictures.
If you have turned on the feature, and another user tries to take a screenshot of your profile picture, the application informs you that this is not possible.
The solution is not entirely surprising, because five years ago Whatsapp blocked the possibility of saving other users’ profile pictures on their own device.
The change does not affect taking screenshots of images sent to discussions.
