Nowadays we know no better than that we cross the A12 from Driemanspolder and Rokkeveen via the Nelson Mandela Bridge. But until 1992 we did that via a brown-colored footbridge.
We also reached the train platforms of the Dutch Railways via the footbridge: on the Rokkeveen side this concerned the slow train to The Hague and Utrecht, on the Driemanspolder side it concerned the train platforms of the Sprinter (the predecessor of RandstadRail trams 3 and 4 ). The dark walkway had a pair of round windows. As a result, you could take a look at the highway and the cars that raced below you along the way.
