Do you have to clean solar panels and how do you do that? Dragonfly explains

But how exactly do you clean solar panels and when is it necessary?

Solar energy

Cleaning your solar panels every now and then is definitely a good idea. When there is dirt on the solar panels, they receive less sunlight. The system continues to work, but it produces less solar energy, which is of course a shame. Dirt doesn’t just have to be dust, it can also be leaves, bird droppings or deposits.

How do you clean solar panels?

If you have solar panels, now is the time to clean them. In early spring, the solar panels start to generate a lot of energy and they must be thoroughly clean for full operation. Before you start cleaning, it is important to turn off the solar panel system completely. You do not need a special cleaning agent for cleaning, it is even better to clean it without any agent because some agents are quite aggressive and can affect the coating of the solar panels. It is best to clean the panels with lukewarm water and a sponge. It is better not to use a scouring pad, hard brush or high-pressure cleaner. Lukewarm water with a sponge or soft cloth is sufficient.

When do solar panels generate the most energy?

Solar panels always generate energy, even when the sun is not fully shining and it is cloudy. The more hours of sunshine, the more power the solar panels will generate and therefore they will produce more energy in the spring. But it should not get too hot, above 25 degrees the solar panels generate less energy.
