Mandared is a delicious cross between clementine and blood orange.

It is now possible to find mandareds on store shelves. Yes, you read that right. Not mandarins, but mandareds, i.e. blood mandarins.
Mandaredi are a cross between the Sicilian blood orange Tarocco and clementine. The fruits are seedless, juicy and easy to peel, so worth tasting.
The color of the blood mandarin flesh may show redness, which comes from the Tarocco.
Mandareds can be found in many different grocery stores. For example, mandarets have been a seasonal product in S group’s national selections for a few years now.
– The popularity has grown every year, but in 2022, for example, the harvest was small, and we couldn’t sell the desired amount of the product. This year’s harvest amounts look good so far, says the sales manager responsible for fruits, vegetables and flowers Katarina Vikman From the S group supermarket.
Vikman reminds that the harvest season for blood mandarins is short, like blood oranges.
– The harvest season lasts from January to February, so you should pick this up in stores right now.
Hearty winter is the golden age of citrus fruits. Grapefruits, blood grapefruits, sweeties, oranges and blood oranges are also in season now.
