Do not freeze these foods

These foods should not be frozen, because either their structure or taste suffers in the cold embrace of frost.

1. Salad

Lettuce loses its crispiness when frozen and turns into a slimy mush when thawed.

2. Eggs

Omelet and fried egg do not like freezing. They turn into rubbery chewing gum in the cold.

3. Avocado

Who likes a blackened avocado. A frost-bitten avocado loses its glowing green color and darkens throughout when thawed after freezing.

4. Coffee

You may have heard the tip that you can freeze coffee beans or coffee powder, but in reality this is not worth it. Coffee loses some of its flavor in the cold.

5. Dairy products

Dairy products do not like the cold, so milk, yogurts, crème fraîche and other dairy products should not be put off in the cold. Their structure completely breaks down in the cold, and they are no longer usable in the same way as before they were frozen.

6. Potatoes

Raw potatoes become soft when thawed and the texture of the potatoes suffers in the cold.

Boiled potatoes can also be perfectly frozen if needed.

7. Condiments

Some of the spices lose their flavor in the cold, some can become sharper and bitter.
