Do FC Bayern, BVB and Co. benefit? Russia’s league threatens “revolution”

The war of aggression against Ukraine apparently has a direct impact on the sporting future of Russian football clubs. Many players want to leave their clubs as soon as possible and are therefore pushing for early contract terminations. There is talk of a “revolution in the transfer market” in the media. Do Bundesliga clubs like FC Bayern or BVB benefit from this?

Almost a third of all professionals in Russia’s top division, the Premier League, come from abroad. Since Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of neighboring Ukraine, countless of these footballers just want to get away.

FIFA and UEFA have already banned the Russian teams from all competitions, and league operations are also on the brink of collapse.

Loud “imageThe international umbrella organization of professional footballers FIFPro is now urging FIFA to allow foreign players to unilaterally terminate their working papers in order to make free transfers and, above all, timely transfers possible.

“We can confirm that we are working on a plan to allow foreign players to terminate their contracts with Russian clubs,” FIFPro confirmed to the tabloid.

FC Bayern, BVB and Co. as potential buyers?

If the world association does not agree, many of those affected are said to be planning legal steps to get out of their contract through individual lawsuits.

the portal”transfer market” according to 132 out of 399 first division players in Russia, which is 33.1% legionnaires. Brazilians in particular are still very popular in the Premier League (currently 13 professionals).

Should the players actually come onto the market free of charge, a tough struggle should begin throughout Europe. It cannot be ruled out that the German Bundesliga teams will also get involved, after all, some players have been associated with clubs such as FC Bayern, BVB or RB Leipzig in the past.

The world association FIFA has not yet officially commented on the cause.
