A popping champagne bottle, gold-coloured confetti sprays festively into the full theater and the audience is busy with balloons and streamers in gold-coloured. The new theater season was served in De Nieuwe Kolk in Assen last night, with some trendsetters on stage who will also be in Assen next season. The presentation was given a golden edge, because the culture palace will be ten years old in September at the start of the new season.
Karin Bloemen, who is overjoyed to be back on stage after two years of corona, has a taste for it. In Assen she is the hostess of the seasonal presentation for all friends and relations of DNK who are the first to get the chance to book performances from the new theater program.
The singer and comedian herself will be celebrating her fortieth anniversary as an artist next season, and will return to the provincial capital at the end of February. Together with the Metropole Orkest she has the music program 40 years of the most beautiful songs created. “And this beautiful building, it will be there for ten years soon. You have to celebrate that, you have to celebrate everything in life anyway. And that we are all here together, that is also a party. Garlands, bells , calling, drinking, drinking, partying and hustling, you hear it, I’m looking forward to it.”
DNK director Hanneke Bruggeman is also ready for a party after two years of corona. She has high hopes for the coming anniversary year. “We have a nicely balanced program, and hopefully the public will soon be able to find their way to our theater again.”
