SHL club Brynäs IF’s Dmytro Timashov, 25, has been in the midst of turmoil in recent weeks.
First, he had to be on the sidelines due to injury, and at the end of February, Russia launched a war of aggression against Ukraine.
The Ukrainian-Swedish attacker was born in Kirovograd, Ukraine, between Kiev and Odessa.
Relatives of Timashov’s mother still live in Kirovograd.
– Of course it has affected me. However, my mother has had the hardest time. He grew up in Ukraine and has close relatives with his relatives who live there, Timashov said Aftonbladetin in an interview.
Timashov said his relatives have not been injured in the war. Kirovograd has so far been spared the bombings, but their voices have been heard outside the city.
Timashov revealed that his relatives live with him in Stockholm.
Timashov’s father is Russian. His parents are divorced and Timashov’s father lives near Moscow.
According to the attacker, the Russian offensive war has not caused extra tension between the trio.
– I’ve talked to my dad, he’s fine. In Russia, information is obtained from the Russian media and everything can look different. But mom and dad are connected.
Timashova believes he will return to the trough next week. Timashov have played 28 SHL regular season games at 7 + 10 this season.
