Djokovic can plan to participate in the French Open, tennis – tennis

The restriction that only vaccinated athletes and spectators can take part in competitions was lifted this Monday (03/14/22) with most of the other corona rules in France.

“As things currently stand, there is nothing to prevent Djokovic from taking part in the French Open,” said tournament director Amélie Mauresmo at a press conference on the French Open.

Russian and Belarusian professionals there

Russian and Belarusian professionals should also be able to take part in the tournament from May 22 to June 5 in Paris, the organizing French Tennis Federation (FFT) announced on Wednesday.

Djokovic was unable to defend his title at the Australian Open at the beginning of the tennis year because he was not vaccinated against the corona virus and therefore did not receive an entry permit. He is also not present at the current Masters tournament in Indian Wells and the following event in Miami, as the USA refuses entry to non-vaccinated people.
