DJ Tiësto’s beats will not be heard on Sunday during the Super Bowl in Las Vegas. He announced this on Thursday evening in a message on X. De Bredase cites family circumstances as the reason for his absence. “It is a tough decision to miss the game. But family always comes first.”
Tiësto would have been the first DJ ever to musically accompany the event during the competition. The intention was that it would play during the warm-up as well as during the many match interruptions to entertain the audience during the dead moments. The main act, the glorious one halftimeshow, this year is reserved for R&B star Usher. Previously, other stars such as Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna and the Rolling Stones also performed during the popular event.
