DJ Jazzy Jeff stands up for Will Smith | show

“Things should not be twisted so that now it seems like this was something he was proud of. It was a moment when he made a decision, nothing more, nothing less. I could name fifty other situations where Will should have sold people a big dick, but he didn’t all those times. So that he did now is apparently a sign that his bucket was full. He’s only human and acted out of emotion,” said Jazzy Jeff of the Oscars ceremony that saw Smith freak out.

The actor’s friend said he had not seen the incident live, when Smith punched Chris Rock. ,,No, I wasn’t watching but heard pretty quickly what had happened. I really don’t care, Hollywood is such a rotten world with people who think themselves extremely important. Children are being killed in Ukraine right now, that’s something we need to talk about. I just don’t care about that punch from Will.”

He continues: ,,I know Will and know he’s not an aggressive man, I’ve never seen him get this angry in all the years I’ve known him. At first I thought it was a gimmick, because of that smile on his face. That’s how he often looked on the film set when we were shooting. It was a slap with the flat hand, not a punch. Will is a trained fighter, so if he really wanted to hurt Chris, he could have knocked Chris out easily. But that didn’t happen, which I just want to indicate that it was purely an emotional reaction.”

After the blow, Smith himself canceled his membership of the Academy, the organization behind the Oscars. The Academy has ruled that he will not be welcome at the awards ceremony for ten years.
