More than a year after its opening, the Breda DJ experience ONSTAGE was declared bankrupt. The company wanted to use audiovisual spectacle to imitate what it is like to be a DJ. At the beginning of last week, the court in Breda declared bankruptcy, as can be seen from the curator’s publication.
It became bankrupt noticed for the amusement park site Looopings. The attraction opened in the city center of ‘dance capital’ Breda in mid-September 2022. Initiator William Watt came up with this idea during the corona pandemic.
Then he still had to find backers to realize his dream. It worked. With crowdfunding, subsidies and lenders, he eventually managed to find the 1.1 million euros he needed.
‘Plenty of interest’
In an earlier interview with Omroep Brabant, Williams said that there was plenty of interest in ONSTAGE.
William said that there are a lot of requests from China: “They are crazy about karaoke there. You can go boating here in the summer and go bowling or go to the cinema in the winter, but there is nothing like that yet.”
William was even thinking about expansion at the time: “Within a few years I also hope to open a branch in Antwerp.”
