After being active in politics for almost twenty years, alderman Jelle de Haas of Westerveld Municipal Interests is saying goodbye.
He has been an alderman in the municipality for the last four years. Despite his age of 72, he would have liked another term in office, but unfortunately for him his party is not part of the coalition.
“I do not know why we did not join the coalition with Westerveld Municipal Interests. There have been no discussions about that. I would have liked to have participated for another four years.”
De Haas will not return to the council as a councilor. “As a departing alderman you should not return as a councilor. Then at some point you will be confronted with your own policy as a councilor, you must prevent that.”
