– During the fall, I’ve gone through almost every possible emotion: sadness, disappointment, anxiety, anger, despair, hope. But not once have I felt regret or hesitation about the decision, no matter how miserable the feeling was. I know that the decision is right even if it hurts, Häyrinen writes.
The couple, who had been together for 15 years, tried to solve their mutual problems for a long time. They have two children together.
– When there is no emotional connection, respect and appreciation in a relationship, love cannot flourish. The children and the mortgage remain. The lack of emotional connection is like a wall between us. No matter how hard you try to get in touch and end up yelling, the end result is that the wall just gets thicker. Lord knows we’ve tried. 10 years with different couple therapists and even good will did not save this relationship anymore, Häyrinen explains the separation.
According to him, three years ago the couple was already separated, but got back together.
– My worst fear was that after some time I would find myself in the same situation again, i.e. as a smoking human wreck getting divorced. Nevertheless, I decided to believe in love and took the risk. My worst fears have come true this fall.
The influencer known for oven feta pasta says that there are no third parties or drama involved in the breakup. The couple has managed to agree on practical matters. With the divorce, he gave up ownership of the couple’s shared home.
– The love ended, but the worst thing was that I no longer believed in anything better. Hope was gone. Intuition told my every cell what I should do. I tried to fight back. I cried at night when I went to sleep. I cried if I woke up at night. I cried as soon as I opened my eyes. The worst part was making the decision.
