Last week was not good for the rating of Marcelo Tinelli. Monday the 22nd premiered “Genesis” on the screen of Telefe, a Brazilian telenovela based on the first book of the Bible.
The fiction debut scored 14.5 points, and beat the program hosted by Tinelli, “sing with me now”, which obtained 9.1 points. And the trend was repeated on Wednesday 24, when “Genesis” made 13.4 rating points and the Tinelli show 9.3.
Although “Cabezón” fought with all his weapons to bridge the gap with the channel paramount groupand show that the commitment to the new format this year (with musical reality and a hundred live juries) has been successful.
“Genesis” recounts biblical events such as the story of Adam and Evethe great flood, the Tower of Babel, Abraham’s journey, and reaches the period of slavery of the Hebrew people in Egypt, which is told in “Exodus”, the second book of the Bible and which also has its series, “Moses and the ten commandments”, with repeated success on Telefe.
The new ball channel bet will have a total of 220 chapters and comes to replace in that slot “Fugitive”a Turkish series that will continue to be broadcast but at a different time.
If the biblical fiction is one of the problems for the program Tinelli, the other front is no less difficult to overcome. “Genesis“, which runs from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. only competes with “Sing with me now” for half an hour, from 10:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.. Then, the series gives way to “La Voz Argentina”, a program that is similar to Tinelli’s, and draws a loyal audience from past seasons.
And “La Voz Argentina” also surpasses “Sing With Me Now”: last Monday, after the debut of “Genesis”, the program hosted by Marley He made 12.1 rating points and on Wednesday 12.9, beating Tinelli. Although in El Trece they point out that “Marcelo is putting up a fight”.
Already before “Genesis”, Tinelli already lost the strip against another “Fugitive”. On Monday, August 15, the trend was the same, the Turkish soap opera scored 12.3 points and “The Argentine voice” made 13.7 points. “Sing With Me Now” just 9.8 pointsbelow the two digits expected by the Constitución channel.
The driver is not resigned and bets on the life stories of the participants to achieve the empathy of the general public. For example that of Sunny, an autistic girl that she said that due to her painting, she was always branded as “weird” or “crazy”, and that she decided to participate in the show to break stereotypes.
