Divers find telephone during search at Empel: ‘Probably from Sanne’

In the water at junction Empel near Den Bosch, where the deceased Hebe (10) and Sanne (26) were found on Wednesday evening, a telephone was found by divers on Friday afternoon ‘which is very likely Sanne’s’. That’s what the police report.

Another investigation took place at the Empel junction on Friday morning. The police were present with several divers to comb the water behind the junction.

“It is a follow-up investigation, but we cannot report more,” a spokesperson said earlier. The left lane of the A59 was therefore closed.

Missing
The bodies of companion Sanne and 10-year-old Hebe were found in the black Kia Picanto, which was in the water at the junction. This ended a days-long search. Hebe and Sanne had been missing since Monday afternoon.

On Monday Sanne left Raamsdonksveer with the girl in a black Kia Picanto. She had picked up Hebe at a day center and would drive from there to Vught, where the girl lives. The police launched major searches, supported by volunteer groups. An AMBER Alert was also issued for the girl.
