In the Stieltjeskanaal near Coevorden, the fire brigade is looking for someone who may have fallen into the water and has not surfaced.
“A cyclist called 112. He saw someone throw a bicycle into the water. The person then jumped after it himself, but did not come up,” says a spokesman for the Drenthe Safety Region.
A diving team from the fire brigade and an air ambulance are present. “A second dive team is on its way. They are coming to help because it is a wide channel and nothing has been found yet,” says a spokesman.
