It flashes and shines: In the District Mot, no expense was spared on the decoration, which is intended to be reminiscent of Vietnamese street food stalls. But does it taste good?

Fortunately, even without a reservation, we were able to get a table after a few minutes of waiting on Saturday evening. The shop is full to the last seat, but the service is incredibly quick with tickets and takes our drink requests.

The “Hue Mule” with vodka, lime juice and ginger beer (10 euros) comes to the table in a chic way and tastes good. The ribs (Com Tam Suon Non, 12.90 euros) are wonderfully sticky and saucy and so tender that they fall off the bone.

Great: If you order rice noodle rolls, you can watch directly in the dining room how the dough is spread on a hot plate and then filled with vegetables, herbs and lettuce and folded up. The result is super delicious (8.40 euros).

Unfortunately, our burger (7.50 euros) comes to the table really cold, but after a complaint it is reheated in the microwave – that of course kills the salad, but better than cold. So: very nice shop for a quick, relaxed meal.
