A dispute between two groups escalated on Tuesday evening on the elevated platform of the Kottbusser Tor subway station in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
According to initial information, the altercation broke out around 11 p.m., in which weapons were drawn and at least four men were injured!
A large police force arrived to calm the situation. Knives and bottles are said to have been used in the bloody dispute.
The injured were treated and several men were arrested.
The elevated station was closed for around an hour while the investigation took place. Subway traffic was halted and electricity was turned off as police officers also searched the track bed for clues.
A pool of blood could be seen on the platform.
It was initially unclear how many of the injured were taken to hospital.
The exact background to the bloody confrontation at Kottbusser Tor – why the argument broke out, what weapons were used – still have to be determined.
