Disney is bringing Bambi back to the big screen

According to media reports, the film studio is negotiating with Sarah Polley to direct the new Bambi.

Disney is planning Bambi’s bringing it back to the big screen in the form of a new live action version. According to media information, the Oscar-winning actor, screenwriter and director Sarah Polley is in talks with Disney to direct the new Bambi movie.

Deadline says, referring to several sources, that it would be a musical whose music would be composed by six-time Grammy-awarded country star Kacey Musgraves.

Disney first released a film version of the fairy tale in 1942, and it has since become one of the studio’s most notable animated films. In 2011, the film was selected for the National Film List of the US Congress, where the most culturally significant American films have been collected.

In the new live action movie Bambi would reportedly be brought to life with CGI graphics. Disney announced the production of a new version already in 2020, and at that time the screenwriters were named for the project Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Lindsey Beer. It is not known if the script will remain the same.

In recent years, Disney has been diligently producing its classic films as new live action versions. It saw the light of day in May Halle Bailey starred The little Mermaidwhich has garnered mixed reviews.

Next year, a new one will premiere Snow White-film and Mufasa: The Lion Kingwhich tells From The Lion King the familiar story of Mufasa.
