Nadia and her family live in a tiny house and have to survive on just €1,160 a month. For most people this would be very tight with three children, but Nadia has no problem with it. She keeps a close eye on her spending and is also very frugal.
Egg as shampoo
Because she off the grid lives, she does not use electricity, gas or sewage. She makes the occasional exception when it comes to using a water pipe, but in fact she mainly collects rainwater to do laundry or bathe herself and her children. While bathing, no shampoo is used, but the children’s hair is washed with egg because, according to Nadia, this is ‘very nutritious for your hair’.
Viewers respond to ‘What are they doing?’
And it doesn’t stop there: Nadia also does washing without washing powder or fabric softener. Vinegar is her favorite remedy for laundry. They use the water that the children bathe in for washing. This way of life causes a slight disgust among many viewers.
You should not be guided by having (a lot of) money, but Nadia’s frugality is also a bit sad. She has quite a budget so enjoying it a bit with your children is also allowed. #whatthey’re doing
