In 2016 she became Vice European Champion, in May 2019 she gave birth to twins – for almost six years now Berlin’s discus thrower Julia Harting (32) has been looking for a way back to the top of the world.
So that it works in the new season, the wife of discus legend Robert Harting (38) is moving to Neubrandenburg in the training group of Claudine Vita (26/EM bronze 2022).
Trainer there: discus guru Dieter Kollark (78). Kollark is particularly good with older athletes (he made Franka Dietzsch world champion again at 39), and he has also led mothers who do high-performance sports – like Astrid Kumbernuss (1999 World Championship gold after the birth of her son) – to success again.
Kumbernuss, today sports manager and head of the federal training center litter in Neubrandenburg: “I can confirm that we have an appointment with Julia Harting on Monday, but as long as there is no signature on the contract, I can not say anything.”
Harting, who continues to live in Berlin, will soon commute to Neubrandenburg more often.
