Discus thrower Danara Stoppels from Holwierde became fifth on Wednesday night (Dutch time) in Cali Colombia at the World Athletics Under 20s.
The 19-year-old Stoppels, who had qualified in eleventh place for the final, did so with a new personal best: 51.86 meters. Sweden’s Emma Sralla captured it well. She threw her discus 56.15 meters.
High jumper Britt Weerman from Assen, just like Stoppels a member of Groningen Athletics, starts thursday night (Dutch time) to the tournament.
