Discriminatory FC Twente fan apologizes to Brobbey

The 16-year-old boy who racially treated Brian Brobbey last Sunday after the match between FC Twente and Ajax has apologized. FC Twente general manager Paul van der Kraan reports this on the club’s website.

The boy was arrested immediately after the incident and received a stadium ban. He has apologized to Brian Brobbey, Ajax and FC Twente.

Shortly after the incident, FC Twente technical director Arnold Bruggink apologized for the incident in the Ajax team bus. Van der Kraan calls the incident ‘terrible’. “After a previous incident on the players’ bus, everything was done to prevent a recurrence. Apparently this was not enough.”

Earlier this year, an incident also took place after the FC Twente-Ajax match. After the previous match, insults were also leveled at the Ajax players, after which Steven Berghuis threw a punch. Berghuis is said to have hit after a racist comment towards Brian Brobbey.
