Disco Dolly and the Bloemenbar on Handboogstraat will cease to exist in a few weeks. The owners announced this on Instagram. In the case of Disco Dolly, the nightclub’s 10th anniversary is still being celebrated, but after that it is definitely over.
“After more than 10 years, my neighbor and I are closing our doors hand in hand. It is time for something new,” writes co-owner Pim Evers about Disco Dolly, who took over the Dansen bij Jansen building in 2013. “I would like to thank all the lovely people who stood in front of, behind or on the bar from the bottom of my heart.”
The 10th anniversary is therefore the definitive closing event for the club. The owners say that a day later they will say goodbye to the place in a private circle.
All this time, Disco Dolly stood right next to the Bloemenbar, which opened its doors two years earlier in ‘Het Straatje’, as Handboogstraat is also called. “But those doors will still be wide open in the coming weeks, so come and have a beer before it’s too late.”
