Western military planners are seriously considering a ‘worst-case scenario’, in which Ukraine will be defeated by Russia within a few months if Western aid is scarce. That would mean a “disaster” for European security.
Ukraine risks losing the war against Russia as soon as next summer if American and European support dries up, a senior US official has warned. “There is no guarantee of success with us, but without us the Ukrainians will certainly fail,” a senior US military source told ‘CNN’.
The chance that Vladimir Putin will prevail is increasing due to the West’s war fatigue and military aid packages that are blocked until further notice. Last week, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban blocked an EU aid package of 50 billion euros. And there is still no agreement in the US on additional resources for Ukraine.

But weapons and equipment have already become scarce in Ukraine, and analysts estimate that Kiev will soon run out of even air defense missiles, anti-aircraft missiles and portable missile systems if Western aid disappears.
The EU has also admitted that not all of the promised artillery shells will be delivered to Ukraine. There are also more and more reports from the front about the rationing of ammunition.
“Total destruction of Ukraine”
Western military planners are now working on a ‘worst-case scenario’ for Ukraine if Western support dries up. It would certainly spell disaster for the security of Europe.
“I don’t think people really realize what the fall of Ukraine would actually mean,” CNN quoted an unnamed European diplomat as saying. “We would see terrible things: ethnic cleansing and the total destruction of Ukraine.”
