Telstar’s last home game in 2023 ended in a deception. The Velsen team lost painfully against FC Dordrecht’s ten team. It became 0-2.
Christos Giousis, Youssef el Kachati, Danzell Gravenberch and Yael Liesdek all made their return to the bench at Telstar in the last home game. The quartet saw that FC Dordrecht had to continue with ten men after twelve minutes. Antef Tsoungui made a rash foul on Mitch Apau and was allowed to intervene.
Club top scorer Zakaria Eddahchouri was reached via Tim van de Loo, but he headed into the side netting. Cain Seedorf provided the next danger. Yet it was Dordrecht that had the biggest chance of the first half. However, Korede Osundina shot the ball narrowly wide of the goal.

Dordrecht also had the first opportunity after halftime. This time an effort from Osundina went just over the goal. Telstar did not reveal itself and came out of its shell. Eddahchouri created a gigantic chance, but his header went wide. The attacker was the signaler for Alae-Eddine Bouyaghlafen a minute later. He couldn’t find the target either.
Telstar broke that up in the final phase. A cross from former player Ilias Bronkhorst was extended by René Kriwak and went into the goal: 0-1. Despite the deficit, Telstar remained very dangerous at times. Eddahchouri and Mohammed Tahiri had several chances, without success. To make matters worse, it even became 0-2 in the final phase through Mathis Suray. All Telstar’s hopes were thrown away and the score did not change after that.
Due to Telstar’s defeat, the White Lions remain stuck in eighteenth place in the first division. The first half of the season ends against VVV-Venlo (8 p.m.). That match can of course be followed live on NH Radio.
