“I have no desire to remake the first film or to compete with the old and the new, nor do I aspire to make it as good. The point is: what’s a new story to tell?” he said.

The original film was released in 1987 and featured Francis “Baby” Houseman (Jennifer Gray) vacationing with his family. The years were the sixties. Now the hopes are all on the new film that was announced at CinemaCon 2022, along with confirmation that Jennifer Gray will return to play Baby Houseman. The release is scheduled for US theaters on February 9, 2024, while the date on which we will be able to see him in Italy is still unknown.
