Dirk Kuyt is ‘angry and disappointed’ and avoids ADO dressing room, MVV advances after victory in Zwolle | Dutch football

Round 13 KKDMVV Maastricht has approached leader Heracles Almelo to one point in the Kitchen Champion Division. The team of trainer Maurice Verberne won 0-1 tonight at PEC Zwolle, which is now third.

Heracles Almelo remains the leader after the thirteenth round, in which nine of the ten games were played tonight. The team of coach John Lammers took a 0-2 lead thanks to goals from Samuel Armenteros (‘5) and Emil Hansson (’25), who already has 7 goals and 7 assists after 13 games. In the second half, Heracles gave it away completely.

Stije Resink and Ilias Alhaft came on in the 47th minute and two minutes later they had both scored: 2-2. Joey Jacobs completed the comeback halfway through the second half with the 3-2 on behalf of the team of Alex Pastoor and his assistant Hedwiges Maduro.

MVV wins thanks to goal Blummel

MVV won for the sixth time in seven games, with 0-1 at PEC Zwolle. Those clubs therefore change places, shortly under leader Heracles. Sven Blummel scored the winning goal in Zwolle in the 37th minute, after a double error by Hoffenheim mercenary Melayro Bogarde.

The match was stopped ten minutes before the end after fans of Zwolle continued to throw beer at the goalkeeper of MVV. After a short interruption, the game was allowed to continue and Blummel had a huge chance to make it 0-2, but he failed to close the game.

Number four FC Eindhoven also seemed to hook up in the top again, but drew 2-2 at Jong PSV and is five points behind leader Heracles. After a bad run, the team of coach Rob Penders was leading 1-0 against Jong PSV tonight due to an early goal from Sparta mercenary Charles-Andreas Brym, who will probably go to the World Cup in Qatar with Canada next month. Johan Bakayako made the 1-1 in the 85th minute, however, by cleverly shooting the ball in with the left. Fodé Fofana even made the 1-2 on behalf of Jong PSV in the 88th minute, but with his second goal of the evening, Brym saved another point on behalf of Eindhoven in the 90th minute.

Sixth defeat for NAC Breda and ADO Den Haag

NAC Breda had a painful evening visiting FC Den Bosch, where it won 0-5 last season. Tonight, Den Bosch won 3-2, after the home team made it 3-0. In the final quarter, Thomas Marijnissen and Jort van de Sande did something in return, but an equalizer was no longer possible on De Vliert. NAC has now lost five of its last seven games.

ADO Den Haag also lost again, just like NAC for the sixth time in thirteen matches. Dirk Kuyt’s team lost 2-1 at Helmond Sport, which fired trainer Sven Swinnen last week. Tim Bakens is provisionally the interim trainer at the club that brought in quite a few players last summer, with Tom Beugelsdijk as the most eye-catching name. The defender from The Hague won tonight against the club where he played for years. Håkon Lorentzen (‘4) scored early for Helmond Sport, after which Denzel Hall made the 1-1 ten minutes after the break. ADO goalkeeper Hugo Wentges saved a penalty from Martijn Kaars in the 61st minute, but five minutes later the Helmond Sport striker made the winning 2-1.

,,I was so disappointed and also angry that I chose not to go into the dressing room for a while,” said Kuyt after the umpteenth setback at ESPN. “I just want to take a break so I don’t say things I’ll regret later.”

,,We have been hammering on intensity all week. When you play such a game, you can talk about tactics, but just bring it on yourself. We have not shown the will to win at all costs. The guys knew that was needed, but didn’t deliver it. We let ourselves eat the cheese off the bread. Normally I always protect my boys, but I’m having a hard time with that now. We lost on commitment, brutality and guts.”

Helmond Sport is now nineteenth with 12 points, only three less than number seventeen ADO Den Haag. The club from the Hofstad will play at home next Friday against VVV-Venlo, which tonight lost 1-2 to Jong FC Utrecht. Rick Kruys’ team dropped from fifth to thirteenth place last month.
