Hill jumper Matti Nykänen shrugged in 1998, when he was short of money and drifted off to Järvenpää Casino as a stripper. In the news documentary about Nykäne, the mountain jumper’s relatives criticized the choice at the time.
– I don’t know what he was hired to do there in Järvenpää. Yes, it certainly became clear to him that it was something that he was not capable of, in the series we will learn.
The strip show aroused mixed reception already in its time. Moni pointed an accusing finger at Nykänen’s manager at the time. However, Nykänen got over the conversation in which it was said that stripping was an abuse of him and bad for his reputation. The hill jumper himself took the matter lightly and with a sense of humor.

In the documentary about Nykäne, the opinion of his relatives is revealed. Businessman and MP Hjallis Harkimo criticized the case of the late 90s in direct terms.
– The manager, in his greed for money, made Mati strip. He should have been taken out of there if he had used sense, Harkimo commented in the series.
– The stupidest thought I can think of, he gasps.
