Albares says that the Government does not have “any new forecast” of sending military support to Ukraine
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, indicated this Thursday that at this time the Government does not have “any new forecast” to send military aid to Ukraine, coinciding with the request of the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, the supply of combat aircraft.
“Spain’s commitment to Ukraine is beyond any doubt and it will be a commitment as long as it is necessary to defend peace in Ukraine, defenseless civilians and their sovereignty and territorial integrity”, the minister asserted in statements at the Congress of Deputies, when asked if Spain plans to send new assistance.
Albares has referred to the announcement made by the Defense Minister, Margarita Robles, that Spain will supply Leopard tanks to Ukraine, although without offering a specific figure, and has specified that “there is no new forecast.”
