On Friday 10 June 2022, the Council of Ministers approved 1 ambassadorial appointment on a proposal from Minister Hoekstra of Foreign Affairs. This will only be final after the Nigerian government has given its approval. The Council of Ministers has also approved the appointment of 1 permanent representative to an international organisation. The appointments will take effect from next summer.
The Council of Ministers approved the appointment of Wouter Plomp to the post in Nigeria, based in Ajuba. Wouter Plomp is now ambassador in Islamabad. The Council of Ministers also approved the appointment of Christophe Kamp as Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), based in Vienna. Christophe Kamp is now director of the Office of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities. In the 2022 transfer round, 27 ambassador positions have been published. After completion of all placements, 14 women and 13 men were appointed to these positions.
