Ulast stop of fashion month, Paris. Which opens, as has become tradition, with the fashion show of Dior SS 2023. The inspiration of the collection is Caterina de ‘Medici and sixteenth-century France. Reinterpreted à la Dior. Double-layered black eyes and a make-up reduced to the essence, a real tribute to the nude look so much parisien, perfect with the hair tied in low and smooth pigtails. And the new woman of the most famous PFW maison is ready for the summer.
Dior SS 2023 and the textbook nude make-up
It is not the first time that Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director of Dior Make-Up, is fascinated by the nude look. The dosage of the bases, so skilful as to adapt perfectly to the natural tone of the complexion and not to be noticed on the skin, is a perfect chemistry to which the creative director has long accustomed us.
From the diaphanous skins, devoid of lipsticks and any imperfections, they literally emerge eyes bilayered with black from the eyeliner. Also fond of this style, cross and delight of women, Philips drew two thick lines by redrawing the eyes along the upper and lower lines, stretching them out of proportion. This deep black stroke is the only habit of a make-up that reinterprets the essential sixteenth-century make-up.

Hair, low ponytails and microbobs: and it is immediately a trend
Set aside the sixteenth-century headdresses and the elaborate weaves, the 16th century woman reinterpreted by Dior sports much simpler and more essential hair. In particular, low pigtails but also microbobs and rigorous fringes.
Ideal for long hair, the low pigtails frame the face laterally and take up the central line loved at the time. The hyper contemporary touch is instead given by the microbobs: already spotted on the Milanese catwalks, this new cut is even more minimal and shorter than the more classic version. Just above the ear, it is divided by a very simple center parting and is a super chic choice especially for thin, thin faces and straight hair.
To complete, the fringe: so much French, and a hair look that is the symbol of Parisian women, at Dior the fringe is straight, even, without frills, simple and severe, the ideal complement to a basic cut.
