Valentino’s latest couture show, which took place on July 8 at Rome’s Spanish Steps, has reportedly prompted a nearby Dior store to file a complaint of disruption.
As WWD reported, the retail manager of Christian Dior Italia is said to have written a letter demanding compensation of 100,000 euros for the alleged disruption. The event, attended by numerous celebrities, attracted a large crowd of visitors and onlookers.
In the months before, Valentino had sent letters to neighboring retailers in the area to get permission to hold the event on the famous Spanish Steps. According to the publication, retailers were told that the event would guarantee the flow of visitors to their stores. However, Dior hit back in his letter to the Italian label, stating that this “was not reflected” on the day of the event.
The French brand went on to say that compensation must be paid within 15 days, otherwise it will “take all necessary measures to protect its rights”.
