Dior shows its ‘Fall 24’ collection in the USA.
The French fashion house will present its latest collection in New York in April, Dior said on Tuesday. Maria Grazia Chiuri, the Italian creative director of womenswear, chose the Brooklyn Museum as the venue.
After the presentation of the Fall 2022 collection in Seoul For the catwalk show, which will be shown on April 15th, the brand is once again relying on a traditional setting outside of its French homeland: the chosen museum is one of the oldest art halls in the USA, houses multicultural exhibits and is part of an extensive park and garden complex from the 19th century.
German acting icon Marlene Dietrich is named as a bridge between the masculine-tinged collection and New York. Ruffled satin, lace, velvet and crepe are used in the garments, which feature pantsuits, loose coats and a dark color palette.
The location will also underline the strong alliance between the brand and this iconic institution and celebrate founder and fashion designer Christian Dior’s passion for the fascinating US metropolis, according to the statement.
The fashion house had already made a lasting impression in winter 2023 with its ‘Dream Carousel’, a facade show of the New York luxury department store Saks Fifth Avenue.
