The head coach of Huahkaji Markku Kanerva has named the injured Sauli Väisänen to replace KuPS Diogo Tomasin For the next matches of the Nations League.
The 25-year-old central defender is with the national team for the first time. Tomas is in the crew for the September matches against Romania and Montenegro.
Finland now has three first-timers on the team. Arttu Hoskonen and Viljami Sinisalo also put on the Huuhkajat bun for the first time.
On September 23, Huuhkajat hosts Romania at the Olympic Stadium. Three days later, the team travels to Montenegro for the final match of the Nations League.
Finland opened the Nations League in the summer with one win, two losses and one draw. It qualifies for third place in the group. Bosnia-Herzegovina, which is in the peak position, has run away to four points.
The group winner moves up to the highest league level, the A-league. The group’s jumbo team, on the other hand, drops down a notch to the C-league.
