The Grizzlies player will miss a game and the Cavs player will pay a $20,000 fine
Both basketball players fought during the third quarter of the Cavs-Grizzlies last Thursday
The NBA announced this Friday that Dillon Brooks (Memphis Grizzlies) was suspended a game employment and salary due to his brawl on Thursday with Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers). For his part, Mitchell has received a $20,000 fine.
In the middle of the third quarter of the game that the Cavaliers beat the Grizzlies (128-113), Brooks, who had just missed a penetration and had fallen to the ground, started the brawl with a blow to Mitchell’s crotch. The Cavaliers star responded by throwing the ball at Brooks and shoving him, leading to a brawl involving numerous players from both teams. Both Brooks and Mitchell were ejected from the match.
The NBA detailed that Brooks will serve his one-game suspension in the matchup that the Grizzlies will play against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.
