It is no secret that Özcan Akyol is not exactly a fan of Dilan Yesilgöz and Wilfred Genee finds that striking, because both share the same origins. “Are people of your descent, i.e. people of Turkish descent, Moroccan descent, proud of you or not?” he asks her in the Today Inside from last night.

‘Stop it!’

Dilan reacts a little surprised to Wilfred’s question. “I do not know.”

Wilfred: “I never notice that about Eus.”

It’s a nonsense question, Dilan thinks. “Oh, stop it. You don’t ask that when Timmermans is sitting here, asking a native Dutchman: ‘Are you proud of him?’”

Wilfred then talks to a compilation of all kinds of things that Özcan has said about Dilan: “No, I think that’s strange, but Eus is always here and he always says these kinds of things about you…”

Heartless witch

As the video starts, we hear Dilan say: “Yes, but he just wants to go into politics himself!”

Then Özcan’s scathing words pass by: “When I hear her talking now, it’s all open doors, it’s bickering sometimes, it’s a bit of flirting with that one and flirting with that one. The PVV can also join. They also insulted her, she was not even allowed to become a minister. Then I think: then you have no backbone! A heartless witch.”

A bit sad

Dilan thinks this is very personal. “I don’t know who ever hurt him, but it’s a bit sad.”

Wilfred finds Özcan’s statements fierce: “What is this?”

Dilan: “I don’t know. I do not know that?”

Johan: “We always have to laugh a little about Eus.”

Dilan: “Me too. Me, too.”

Origin

Johan has a soft spot for Özcan. “Eus doesn’t like anyone.”

Dilan concludes by saying that including Özcan’s opinion is not really relevant. “You know, you said this last time too. What I find complicated is that you put me and him next to each other because of origin. I probably have more in common with René than with Eus.”
