Her name is not yet as well known as that of Mark Rutte, but the VVD intends to succeed him as Prime Minister of the Netherlands: the new party leader Dilan Yesilgöz. She was at the table last night On 1 to give a big interview and she was teased with a fragment from Miljoenenjacht.

Who is Dilan?

Thomas van Groningen, the political reporter for Op1, had requested that fragment. “It was Sunday evening, I thought: let’s relax for a while before work starts again. I always do that with a program where I can really relax and then suddenly Linda de Mol came along and pulled me back into that political reality.”

Linda asks five remaining candidates: “Which political party is Dilan Yesilgöz the party leader?”

It then remains deafeningly quiet. “No one? Then I’m going to say it: the VVD.”

‘Very hard’

Dilan has already seen the fragment, she admits. “Yes, this one was hard.”

Thomas: “That hurt?”

Host Tijs van den Brink: “You were also watching?”

Dilan: “No, I was forwarded to him several times. Not from Thomas, but it could have been done. Hahaha. With smileys indeed!”

77 percent

What is really going on with Dilan’s name recognition? Thomas: “Those few Miljoenenjacht participants are of course not representative research, but there are real figures. Wilders is by far the best known with 95 percent and at the bottom dangling with 77 percent of people is Dilan Yesilgöz. You still have to do something about your fame.”

Dilan: “I will.”

Thomas: “It’s good that you’re here tonight.”
