Digel benefits from the “catch-up effect” in occasion wear

The clothing supplier Digel AG recovered well from the consequences of the Covid 19 pandemic in the 2022 financial year. On Friday, the men’s fashion specialist based in Nagold announced that it was able to achieve sales of almost 117 million euros in the past year. This corresponded to an increase of 80 percent compared to 2021. The revenues were “almost at the same level as in the record year 2019”, the company explained.

Board member Jochen Digel was accordingly satisfied with the current results: “A year ago we would not have thought that we would be able to announce these figures today,” he emphasized in a statement. “This development is all the more gratifying, which of course came about above all thanks to the very motivated commitment and commitment of our employees.”

The company owed its unexpectedly strong growth not least to the lifting of the pandemic-related restrictions that had impacted demand in important categories in previous years. “Above all, the catch-up effect at weddings and events gave us an enormous boost,” emphasized Jochen Digel and was optimistic for the current year: “We assume that this will remain the case in 2023.”
