Difficult victory Rolder Boys in make-up game against Emmen

Tension was high on Wednesday evening at the make-up game between Rolder Boys and Emmen in the first division E of Sunday football. The home club pulled the longest end with great difficulty: 2-1.

Beforehand, everyone was convinced that the winning team would do excellent business. After all, both Rolder Boys and Emmen were far from being in a safe place.

Emmen got off to an excellent start and had an excellent opportunity to open the score after eight minutes. Björn Plaggenborg shot a penalty kick over the crossbar. Halfway through the first half, the home club made it 1-0 thanks to a goal by Per Kirchhof.

Resilience

More than fifteen minutes after the break, Siemen Krikke seemed to decide the match in favor of Rolder Boys by scoring Rolder Boys’ second goal: 2-0. However, Emmen showed resilience, because five minutes later the tension returned with Djairo Fik’s connection goal: 2-1.

Rolder Boys crawled through the eye of the needle a few more times in the last half hour, but won with great difficulty: 2-1.

Second penalty kick

,,It was a difficult victory for us”, coach Rick Slor of Rolder Boys acknowledged. Trainer Kevin Waalderbos van Emmen thought his team deserved more. “We have done everything we can. However, the referee failed to give us a second penalty.”
