Borussia Dortmund celebrated a furious comeback in the Bundesliga. BVB turned a 0-2 deficit into a 4-2 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach. TV expert Dietmar Hamann recognizes “two faces” in the runner-up.
After 28 minutes in the Borussia duel between BVB and Gladbach it already looked like a Dortmund defeat.
Rocco Reitz (13th) and Manu Kone (28th) put the Fohlen team in the lead. But Marcel Sabitzer (30th), Niclas Füllkrug (32nd) and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens (45th) turned the game around before the half-time whistle. Shortly before the end, Donyell Malen (90th + 7) put the lid on it. BVB thus avoided their third Bundesliga defeat in a row.
“After the game I know as much as before,” Dietmar Hamann then analyzed Dortmund’s performance on “Sky”. BVB has “two faces,” said the 2002 World Cup runner-up.
“They’re not on the pitch for 28 minutes and then they set off fireworks for 15 minutes. They then controlled the game in the second half,” said Hamann.
“They can’t afford this half hour like today against their next opponents,” added the TV expert, with a view to BVB’s upcoming Champions League game against Milan: “How they come back also shows that they are “We believe that they have character and that they stand together. They go into the game with Milan with a very positive feeling.”
BVB keeper Kobel sees “great step”
Meanwhile, Dortmund keeper Gregor Kobel said his team had made a “great step”.
“Especially in the phase that is coming now, it’s good if you start like this and can fight your way back. We have to carry this momentum into the very tough weeks that are coming and continue where we left off today,” said the Swiss.
